Storm Shelter

It’s been a while since my last post. Its all about this thing called “Life!” Hope to be back on track now.

Once again we have seen the effects of Mother Nature on our friends and family around the world. There are some storms that we remember more than others… probably because the devestation and loss that occurred with them.

No matter how you were effected by this storm, or maybe another one, the thought of a storm is not a plesant thing. I think, for me at least, the real issue with the storms we have in Florida is the unpredictabliity of them. There are so many vairiables to them: warm front, cold front, the jet stream, and of course…Jim Cantore. You see him and you put a “For Sale” sign up on your house.

I don’t know about you, but it seems as though I have been in “Hurricane Season” for a while now. There are so many unpredictable things that have affected my life that I keep looking to see if Jim is around.

Having been part of the hurricane prep for our recent storm, I saw first hand what the word “shelter” meant to people. As we worked the hurricane shelter in our community, I saw scared, desperate, lonely people who were displaced by the storm coming to a shelter.

During the times of storms in your life, the Bible tells us there is a shelter that we can go to and find safety. It is called “The Name of the Lord.” Proverbs 18:10 is a passage that we can hold on to when the storms of life get overwhelming.

There is a statement I heard some time ago that is still prevalent today, “The will of God will not take you where the grace of God cannot keep you.”

Run to the “Storm Shelter.”
